About Ifeyinwa

Ifeyinwa Anako is the Founder and CEO of Anako Consulting, LLC, based in New York City. In addition to her founding role, she is a Content Coach at Metamorphosis TLC, a preeminent provider of Content Coaching for teachers, coaches, and administrators in New York City.

Content Coaching is a process for transforming schools and districts into high-performing learning communities where a culture of learning is embedded at every level. Ifeyinwa’s strengths are working side-by-side with schools and districts to build capacity at all levels, and helping individuals and groups of teachers to design, implement, and reflect on rigorous, differentiated, standards-based lessons that promote student learning through improved instruction. 

Before transitioning into her content coaching role, Ifeyinwa began her teaching experience as a middle school mathematics teacher in New York City. Throughout the years she worked as a 7th level mathematics teacher in the Bronx and served as Grade Team Leader. Additionally, she worked as a 6th-grade mathematics teacher before transitioning into an Instructional Coach and Dean of Students at Harlem Village Academies.

Within these two roles, Ifeyinwa transformed the math academic department and discipline program through effective systemic changes to support a holistic approach to students’ educational experience. In 2017, Ifeyinwa Anako co-founded and became Director of School Affairs of an all boy’s charter school in New York – Stradford Preparatory Charter School for Boys. 

She has had the opportunity of taking on additional education roles such as teaching Robotics/Technology with the Harlem Children's Zone and Black Girls Rock organizations in New York City. She has conducted various training workshops with The National Alliance for Public Charter Schools and recently spoke on Education Reform at the GA summit in 2019.

Some of her training workshops include Algebra for All Initiative in NYC, Building Strong Classroom Culture: Uncommon Schools, and Reasoning Routines at Metamorphosis TLC.  

Ifeyinwa earned a BS in Diagnostic Research from the University of Connecticut, and an MS in Education from St. John’s University in 2014.
